The Google Story

Using standard edition of Gmail at our company office, we found it very comfortable to use internal chat the most. It was quite useful for all the members in staff for faster communication & quick responsive attitude. With added features like: Display image, Custom message & Status indication [ E.g. Busy, Available, Idle], it became quite easy to identify someone’s mood & nature at work place without looking at him/her. Some people added cartoon characters as display image, some added real ones, some added flowers, natural elements etc. Then as custom message people started writing different slogans, quotes along with the status.



Everyday it became habit for everyone to change quotes. Great quotes like : “The more you say, the less people remember”, “Develop the winning edge; small differences in your performance can lead to large differences in your results”, “Even if happiness forgets you a little bit, never completely forget about it” , “It's fine to celebrate success but it is more important to heed the lessons of failure”, “Being busy does not always mean real work. The object of all work is production or accomplishment and to either of these ends there must be forethought, system, planning, intelligence, and honest purpose, as well as perspiration. Seeming to do is not doing” - were fond in different users’ IDs, which were quite sublime.



Such activities really help to enrich the work environment & keep it healthier, wealthier.

Truth about life…

When I shifted myself to the new house during monsoon, I found new things coming up quickly- New neighbors, new surroundings, new friends.

During the month of November I found a female dog - which everybody loved in the flat & who used to sleep on our seat covers of the vehicles was pregnant. After some days she gave six beautiful puppies. All of us loved them & all the puppies were too cute. One was white, another cream colored, and two brown ones, one completely black & sixth one black with brown scalps. We stored so many photographs of them & everyday after getting up our first work used to be feeding all the puppies. Then it had become their routine to follow residents whenever they climbed down the stairs. They became part of our life, and one starry night I heard their sound of crying. The white one was crying a lot. Someone forgot and closed the main gate and these puppies were outside with their mom. They were shivering. I got up immediately and opened the main gate. All of them started to kiss me. Someone arranged one mat for them also.

Whenever I came from the office the black with brown scalps always followed me and it was very near to my heart. One day someone from another society took away the white one, boys from our block took her back. One servant who used to work at my neighbor’s house suggest someone from her family to take away black one, as they believe in superstition that black one might bring good luck to them. So now there remained five. After couple of months one day I found two of them missing - my favorite black with brown scalp & the brown baby. No my three puppies as well as me are missing them.

This is the truth – which comes in life, also goes away. But they are still in our memories & memories never die. Dogs are your best friends, always love them.

Think Outside the Box

You are driving along in your car on a wild, stormy night, it’s raining heavily, when suddenly you pass by a bus stop, and you see three people waiting for a bus:

· An old lady who looks as if she is about to die.

· An old friend who once saved your life.

· The perfect partner you have been dreaming about.

Which one would you choose to offer a ride to, knowing very well that there could only be one passenger in your car?

This is a dilemma that was once used as part of a job application.

· You could pick up the old lady, because she is going to die, and thus you
should save her first;

· * or you could take the old friend because he once saved your life, and this
would be the perfect chance to ! pay him back.

· However, you may never be able to find your perfect mate again.

The candidate who was hired had no trouble coming up with his answer. Guess what was his answer?

He simply answered:

“I would give the car keys to my Old friend and let him take the lady to the hospital. I would stay behind and wait for the bus with the partner of my dreams.”

Sometimes, we gain more if we are able to give up our stubborn thought limitations. Never forget to “Think outside the Box.”
